Last Thursday, several of us went as a group to see Princeton University Players’ production of In the Heights at Frist Theatre. When thinking of trips to propose for the Collective, my first instinct is to propose off-campus trips to see exhibits and shows that we otherwise would not have the opportunity to see. It’s very easy to forget to turn to the Collective when I want to see on-campus shows and concerts. This was a great opportunity to support a student group and share the experience of seeing a wonderful musical with fellow collective members. In a political atmosphere where immigration is such a charged topic, it was particularly poignant to hear the stories of a community of immigrants trying to build a new home for themselves in a country that doesn’t always make that process an easy one. As always, it was a joy to discuss the show with my fellow Edwards members afterwards.
